The WatSSUP Programme is implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The programme aims to eradicate root causes of displacement, reintegrate refugees and strengthen host communities. This programme is operating on the nexus of humanitarian and development work and focuses on both refugee and host communities in Northern Uganda (Arua, Yumbe, Terego & Madi Okolo). It provides sustainable water and sanitation services in the selected communities. HYT have been instrumental in facilitating the operational implementation of this programme. The latrines have been constructed to a high standard and will provide life changing impacts to the people living in these communities.
