It’s been a pleasure working with HYT. We were so proud of them and their work technology. The three classrooms they constructed created a great impact to the school, the children and the community of Bright Future Primary school. HYT constructed the classroom at a time when the school was going through a huge challenge of classroom shortage due to high enrolment as well as latrines. With over 2000 students, the school had only three classrooms and a five stance latrine. Most of our classes were under the trees.
So when HYT started the construction, we had an increase in the number of learners coming to school. When the classrooms were done, a number of benefits were realized;
More learners were enrolled to school. The classrooms attracted children and boosted their interests in learning. Now our enrolment is at 2305 but still counting because of the new arrivals coming in time and again.
Our classes were decongested allowing for proper classroom management enabling free interaction among learners and with materials in a safe and conducive learning environment.
Teaching literacy and numeracy become possible.
Attention, retention and performance improved because learners have more time to interact with the teachers and concentrate in class and school activities.
There is reduced open defecations, and reduced cases of diarrheal diseases.
The duration the children take to access the latrine which was affecting concentration in class has reduced.
The water tank is providing safe and clean water to the school.
We are so much grateful and once again thank HYT for their timely support the school received.
