HYT supports the Batwa to build better homes

HYT is working with the Batwa community to build better family homes, while preserving Bwindi forested landscape, home to the fabled mountain gorilla.

In the first project of its kind, HYT’s experienced builders are training Batwa masons to construct village homes, using HYT’s environmentally friendly technology. ‘We are delighted to be working with HYT,’ says Rev. Jovahn Turyamureeba, Director of the Batwa Development Program. ‘The Batwa are building both skills and houses for their community. It will transform the lives of these extraordinary people,’ he added.

A nearly-completed house for the Batwa people, constructed by HYT using our climate friendly interlocking bricks.

We are very grateful for the partnerships which have helped to make this possible.
